LOS ANGELES, CA – The University at Buffalo women’s tennis team is being represented for the first time ever at the ITA All-American Championships at UCLA and the Bulls made their presence known on the first day of competition. UB’s doubles team of Denise Harijanto and Diana Popescu picked up a win to move on in the tournament.

Harijanto and Popescu defeated Julia Bauregger and Ute Schony of Denver by a score of 8-4. They now move one step closer in the pre-qualifier draw as they face Witchita State’s Lutfiana Budiharto and Stephanie Dalmacio, who won their opening match 8-0. That match is set to begin on Sunday morning at 9:00 am pacific time. Should the Bulls win that match, they will play again on Sunday afternoon with a chance to make the qualifier draw of the tournament.
