BUFFALO, NY - The University at Buffalo's women's tennis team rolled to an easy 7-0 victory over visiting St. Francis (PA) on Sunday morning at the UB Tennis Complex to improve to 2-0 on the season. The Red Flash fall to 0-6 on the season following weekend losses to Cleveland State and the Bulls.

Two Bulls scored "triple-bagel" victories in defeating both their doubles and singles opponents to lead the squad to the win.

The duo of Michelle Kollarova (Bratislava, Slovak Republic/Sport Gymnasium) and Katrin Fischer (Ternitz, Austria/Borg) combined at second doubles to defeat St. Francis' Mallary Palmer and Jessica Wanchalk, 8-0. Then in singles play, Kollarova, at number three, defeated Wanchalk, 6-0, 6-0 while Fischer, at number four, knocked off Allison Arcurio, 6-0, 6-0.

UB's number three doubles team of Sheri Ugowski (Orchard Park, NY/Orchard Park) and Onessa Williams (Albany, NY/Albany) also picked up an 8-0 win over Lauren Gamerro and Johnna Jackson to easily wrap up the doubles point. The number one team of Kristen Ortman (Amherst, NY/Amherst) and Miglena Nenova (Rousse, Bulgaria/Eurointellect) spotted Amy Croskey and Lesley Wenzel the first two games before coming back to score an 8-2 win for the Bulls.

In other singles matches, Lisa Wittman (Cheektowaga, NY/Cheektowaga) had little trouble with Palmer, in the number five match, taking a 6-1, 6-0 victory. Ortman downed Croskey, 6-3, 6-1, at number one. Nenova defeated Wenzel, 6-2, 6-1, at number two. Ugowski scored a 6-1, 6-2 victory over Rebecca Seybold in the number six match.

The Bulls host the Can-Am Invitational Tournament next weekend. Matches will be held at the UB Tennis Complex on Friday and Saturday with Sunday's finals moving to Niagara University to complete the tournament.
