Denise Harijanto Named Academic All-MAC Harijanto picks up the award for the second straight season
Harijanto, who is a Management major with a 3.671 GPA, led the team in singles and doubles victories. Harijanto was named first-team All-MAC for the first time in her career this past season as she played the whole year at first singles and doubles. She was named MAC Player of the Week once during the season and defeated the MAC’s all-time wins leader, Kerstin Pahl, twice on the year. Harijanto finished her junior season fourth in school history in singles wins with 65 and second all-time in doubles victories with 72. The Academic All-MAC honor is for a student-athlete who has excelled in athletics and academics. To qualify, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.20 cumulative GPA and have participated in at least 50 percent of the contests for that particular sport. First-year students and junior college transfers in their first year of residence are not eligible for the award. The number of honorees on the MAC All-Academic Team are the number that is set for the specific sport or 33% of the number of nominees, whichever is greater.
