Bulls Drop Tourney Opener

KALAMAZOO, Mich. - The Bulls completed their season with a 4-0 loss to Northern Illinois in the opening round of the Mid-American Conference Tournament. UB finishes the season 5-16 overall. Northern Illinois took the match quickly winning 6-0, 6-0 decisions in three matches before being declared the winner.

Season Leaders

Three players led the Bulls with five wins each individually. Freshman Michelle Mercer (Orchard Park, NY/Orchard Park) was 5-16 playing number one singles. Another freshman, Karen Maynard (Poughkeepsie, NY/Speckenkill) was also 5-16 seeing action at number three. Sophomore Kris Van Schoonhoven (Lockport, NY/Lockport) finished 5-11 on the singles court as the Bulls number four player. The doubles team of Mercer and Van Schoonhoven were 5-11 to notch the most wins of a Bulls tandem.
