Bulls To Face UCLA In NCAA Tournament First RoundComplete NCAA Tournament Bracket
The Bulls won their first Mid-American Conference title on Sunday afternoon after coming from behind to defeat Western Michigan, 4-3 to earn the MAC’s automatic berth. The Bulls are currently 12-8 on the season and will travel to UCLA to meet the Bruins, who are currently ranked seventh in the nation in the latest polls and were champions of the Pac-10 with an 18-5 overall record. The Bulls found out their tournament opponent in front of a packed room of staff, administration and fellow student-athletes. “We are looking forward to our trip to play a very good UCLA team,” said head coach Kathy Twist. “I am very excited that our team has the opportunity to represent the University at Buffalo in the NCAA Tournament.” The Bulls and Bruins will meet on Friday, May 9 at 1:00 pm at the Los Angeles Tennis Center following the conclusion of the Long Beach State and Denver match at 10:00 am. The winners of the two matches will meet at UCLA on Saturday, May 10 at 3:00 pm. All times are Pacific Daylight Time. Sixty-four teams compete in the single elimination Division I
Women’s Tennis Championship. The first two rounds will be
played May 9 and 10 at 16 different sites across the country. The
tournament will continue with the round of 16 on May 15, the quarterfinals
May 17, the semifinals May 19, and the national championship May 20, all
at the University of Tulsa in Tulsa, Oklahoma. |
