Women's Tennis Weekly ReleaseClick here for a PDF version of the release Bulls Roll Past Huskies in Regular Season Finale The University at Buffalo women's tennis team scored a 6-1 victory over visiting Northern Illinois on Friday afternoon at the University Tennis Club to clinch the second seed in the upcoming Mid-American Conference Championships. The Bulls finish the regular season with a 15-2 overall record and improved to 7-1 in league play. Bulls Will Look to Shake Things Up at MAC Tournament The Bulls claim the number two seed in this week's MAC Championships in Toledo for the second consecutive season. UB will take on seventh-seeded Ball State (7-13, 2-6 MAC) at 2:00 pm on Friday in second-round action. The winner of the contest will meet the winner of the match between third-seeded Toledo (15-5, 6-2 MAC) and sixth-seeded Eastern Michigan (12-10, 4-4 MAC). Eastern Michigan was one of three-teams, along with Bowling Green and Miami (OH), to tie for fourth place with identical 4-4 league marks. The Falcons and RedHawks will square off in the four-five match on Friday. Western Michigan, who defeated the Bulls in last season’s championship match, enters the 2007 tournament as the top seed with an 8-0 MAC mark and 19-6 overall record. The Broncos will take on the winner of the eight-nine match between Northern Illinois (5-11, 1-7 MAC) and Akron (9-12, 0-8 MAC) on Friday morning. |
