The Bulls opened with wins over a top junior college program, Hillsborough CC (6-3) and a neutral site victory over Manhattan (7-0). However the Bulls’ five-match winning streak was snapped by UCF in a 5-2 decision that lasted more than five hours. Top Junior College No Match For Bulls

Not a Good Knight Against UCF The five-match win streak was snapped by Conference USA foe UCF on Friday. The Bulls scored two singles wins and a doubles victory in the match which lasted more than five hours. Novaceanu and Jacob earned an 8-1 doubles win at number two, but the Bulls were unable to claim the opening point of the match. Novaceanu also picked up a 6-3, 6-3 win over Kenza Belbacha in the third singles match while Stan remained undefeated in singles play with a win over Jennifer Carati. Stan was leading 4-2 in the third set when Carati was forced to retire from the action. Kristen Ortman (Amherst, NY/Amherst) suffered her first dual-meet loss of the season, but not without a fight, dropping a super-tiebreaker to Elvira Serrot at second singles. Ortman had won her previous nine dual matches, including seven from the number two slot. |
