Bulls Win Sixth In a Row, 7-2 Over Nova Southeastern Finish Spring Break trip 3-0
The Bulls won two of the three doubles matches as UB’s number one team of Denise Harijanto and Diana Popescu defeated Ulia Talalenko and Karolina Porizkova, 8-3. Also taking their doubles match was Aleksandra Petrova and Diana Toia at number two doubles over Elisa Leeder and Justine Feaster, 8-3.
In singles action, UB took five of the six matches as Harijanto and Popescu both won their matches at first and second singles, respectively. Harijanto won her match in straight sets, while Popescu won hers in three sets after dropping the first. At third singles Smaranda Stan defeated Feaster in straight sets, while Petrova did the same at fifth singles. Junior Anna Subenkova picked up a straight sets win over Leeder at sixth singles. Sophomore Jenelle Jones-Mitchell picked up an exhibition over Lili Rassmussen, 8-3. The defending Mid-American Conference champions will look to begin defense of their title as they open conference play on Friday at Eastern Michigan.
