Buffalo Falls To Nationally-Ranked South Florida

UB took two matches to three sets and Denise Harijanto (Jakarta, Indonesia) and Smaranda Stan (Stantu Gheorghe, Romania/Economic) each won the first set of their respective matches. Harijanto met Liz Cruz in third singles and won the first set 7-5. Cruz took the second set 6-3 and won the super tiebreaker point. Stan met Allyn Mueller in four singles and won her first set 6-2, but Mueller won the second set 6-3 and the super tiebreaker.

In doubles play, UB fought hard in each match, but was unable to come away with a victory. Buffalo fell at first and third singles, 8-3 and at second doubles, 8-4.

The Bulls will now begin Mid-American Conference play as they head to Northern Illinois on Friday, March 21.
