HONOLULU, HI - The University at Buffalo's women's tennis team dropped a 7-0 decision to Division II member Hawaii-Hilo Saturday in Honolulu, HI. With the loss the Bulls fall to 6-5 overall.

In the doubles competition, UB's top duo of Karen Maynard (Poughkeepsie, NY/Spackenkill) and Kristen Ortman (Amherst, NY/Amherst) fell, 8-3, to Nathalia Jung and Krystal Hangai. UB's number two team of Michelle Kollarova (Bratislava, Slovak Republic/Sport Gymnasium) and Erica Zielinski (North Tonawanda) were defeated by Michiko Tanaka and Lisa Neugebauer, 8-1. The number three duo of Lisa Wittman (Cheektowaga, NY/Cheektowaga) and Wendy Rose (Eden, NY/Eden) were decisioned by Mai Fujii and Shenna Lani, 8-2.

In singles play, Maynard lost to Jung, 6-2, 6-0, at number one. Ortman played a strong number two match, falling to Tanaka, 6-4, 6-3. Kollarova was defeated, 6-1, 6-2, by Fujii at number three. At number four, Zeilinski fell to Neugebauer, 6-0, 6-0. Wittman lost to Hangai, 6-3, 6-0, at number five. Rose was defeated, 6-0, 6-2, by Lani at number six.

The Bulls are back in action on Tuesday against the University of Hawaii. Match time is scheduled for 8:00 pm Eastern time.
