The Bulls rolled to the opening point of the match, scoring three doubles victories. At number one, the duo of Kristen Ortman (Amherst, NY/Amherst) and Natalie Dean (Feilding, New Zealand/Palmerston North) knocked off Danielle Grenier and Julianne Prokopich, 8-4. The victory was Ortman's 50th doubles triumph of her career, the most in the Division I history of the women's tennis program. Ortman has also posted the most singles wins in Division I history with 54. The number two doubles team of Andreea Novaceanu (Bucharest, Romania/Emil Racovita) and Tina Jacob (Singapore/Raffles JC) made short work of Jacquelyn Cary and Sheila Dargout with an 8-0 decision. UB's number three duo of Miglena Nenova (Rousse, Bulgaria/Eurointellect) and Smaranda Stan (Stantu Gheorghe, Romania/Economic) also rolled to an easy victory, downing Vanja Lakic and Victoria Tiso, 8-2.

In the singles contests, the Bulls had little trouble with their opponents, highlighted by the "double-bageling" by Andreea Novacenau over Jacquelyn Cary, 6-0, 6-0, in the number three match. Combined her with her 8-0 second doubles win, Novaceanu did not allow a game against her all afternoon. She leads the Bulls with 16 singles wins this season.

Straight-Set Singles Wins All Around For Bulls

The remainder of the singles matches also went to the Bulls with UB taking each match in straight sets. At number one, Miglena Nenova downed Vanja Lakic, 6-0, 6-3. Nenova rallied to take the match after trailing 3-2 in the second set, winning the final four games to clinch the victory. Kristen Ortman, at number two, picked up her career-leading 54th singles win with a 6-3, 6-3 decision over Julianne Prokopich. Natalie Dean downed Sheila Dargout, 6-0, 6-3, at number four. At number five, Smaranda Stan rolled past Kim Roberts, 6-1, 6-2. Tina Jacob also picked up an easy win over Victoria Tiso, 6-1, 6-0. In an exhibition match, UB's Katrin Fischer (Ternitz, Austria/Borg) defeated Paige Welch, 6-0, 6-2.
