Bulls Fall At Syracuse

The University at Buffalo women’s tennis team picked up doubles and singles victories from Denise Harijanto and Diana Popescu, but the Bulls fell at Syracuse, 5-2, Friday afternoon.

Bulls Take First Doubles...

In doubles action, UB’s first doubles team of Harijanto and Popescu, who are currently ranked fifth in the East by the ITA, defeated Syracuse’s Christina Tan and Emily Harman, 8-4. However, Syracuse took matches at second and third doubles to claim the point.

...Harijanto And Popescu Win Singles Too In singles action, Harijanto and Popescu continued their dominance as they won singles matches at first and second singles, respectively. Harijanto, who is ranked 28th in the East, defeated Harman, 6-7 (4), 6-2, 12-10 in a super tiebreaker. Popescu defeated her opponent in straight sets as she defeated Tan, 6-2, 6-1. Also taking her match into three sets was junior Anna Subenkova, who won her first set before falling to Chelsea Jones, 4-6, 7-6 (6), 10-3.

Bulls Head To Cornell

The Bulls head to Cornell this upcoming Saturday afternoon to face the Big Red. Cornell is currently 3-2 on the season and hosts Binghamton on Friday night before the Bulls come into town. The match is set for 12:00 pm.
