Women's Tennis Gains New Assistant Coach

Ross Nwachukwu Joins University at Buffalo Staff

BUFFALO, NY - Ross Nwachukwu will be joining head coach Kathy Twist this season as an assistant coach with the University at Buffalo's women's tennis team. The Western New York native received his Bachelor of Science degree in Management from Drake University in 1994. While at Drake, he compiled a career record of 183-86, including four Missouri Valley Conference Championships, and was named the 1994 Region V Player of the Year.

Following his career at Drake University, Nwachukwu played professional tennis on the ATP tour before joining the University of Kansas as assistant men's tennis coach. He worked as co-camp director for the University of Kansas Jayhawk Tennis Camps. In 2000, Nwachukwu became the head men's tennis coach for the University of Kansas, but following the conclusion of the 2000-2001 season, Kansas dropped the men's tennis program. Currently, Nwachukwu is a USPTR certified professional tennis instructor and is ranked as the number one tennis player for Western New York by the Buffalo News.
