Andrea Scharf Freestyle Senior New Hartford, NY New Hartford

2006-07: Set season-best times in the 50 freestyle (24.63), 100 freestyle (54.00) and 200 freestyle (1:59.56) at the MAC Championships. Helped the 200 free relay team to a seventh-place finish in a season-best 1:37.58.

2005-06: Recorded lifetime-best times in both the 50 freestyle (24.57) and 100 freestyle (53.97) at the Akron Invitational.

2004-05: Finished 23rd in the 50 freestyle (24.52) at the MAC Championships.

High School: Lettered and captained at New Hartford High School for coach Tom Wells. Named MVP and winner of the Gordon Ohmstrom Award for best all-around Section III swimmer. Set team records in the 50 freestyle and 200 freestyle relay. A member of Tom Wells’ Spartan Aquatics club team. Won three gold medals at the Empire State Games.

Personal: Born March 25, 1986. Daughter of Frank and Ellen Scharf. Has one brother (Adam) and one sister (Catherine, a member of the UB swim team). Favorite food is barbecue sauce. Favorite movie is Vanilla Sky. Majoiring in sociology.
