Catherine Rowan Backstroke Senior New Orleans, LA Mt. Carmel Academy

2006-07: Posted a season-best time in the 200 backstroke (2:14.03) at the MAC Championships. Also raced in the 100 backstroke and 200 IM at the MAC meet.

2005-06: Sat out the season as a redshirt.

2004-05: Earned points for the Bulls in five primary events, including the 100 and 200 backstroke and the 200 and 400 medley relay. Did not compete in the MAC Championships, but posted season bests in the 100 and 200 backstroke in UB’s meet at Bowling Green.

2003-04: Finished 20th in the 200 IM (2:13.53), 23rd in the 200 backstroke (2:12.07) and 27th in the 100 backstroke (1:01.82) at the MAC Championships.

High School: Graduated from Mt. Carmel Academy where she swam for coach Gene Corru. Louisiana state champion in the 100 backstroke. Earned All-American consideration in the 200 medley and 200 freestyle relay in 2001 and 2002.

Personal: Born August 26, 1985. Daughter of Peter and Jeanne Marie Rowan. Favorite movie is Chariots of Fire. Favorite food is chocolate. Majoring in exercise science.
