Bulls Heat up Pool in Happy ValleyBuffalo broke school and meet records as they placed sixth out of eight schools at the Penn State Invitational (12/3-5). Princeton won the meet with 840 points. Inger Rooneem (Hinton, Alberta/New Westminster Secondary) led the way for Coach Dorsi Raynold's team as she set new Invitational records in the 50 free (23.66) and the 100 free (51.57). She was also a member of the new UB school record-setting 200-medley relay team along with Lisa Boettrich (Hilton, NY/Hilton), Kim Theetge (Elmira, NY/Elmira Free Academy), and Carrie Quinlan (N. Tonawanda, NY/N. Tonawanda) (1:47.64) and 800-freestyle relay squad along with Melissa Shafer (Dewitt, NY/Jamesville-Dewitt), Katrina Sinclair (Lakeport, CA/Ukiah) and Dawn Hickey (Brockport, NY/Brockport) (7:43.49). All four of these times are conference bests this season. Hickey continued her record-breaking tear as she broke the school record and set a new personal-best time in the 500 freestyle (4:59.56) and the 1650 free(17:03.34). |
