Hickey Continues Record-Breaking Tear in UB win

Bulls Beat Visiting Youngstown State, 138-92, Hickey Breaks UB 500 Free Record

BUFFALO, NY - The University at Buffalo women's swimmming team downed Youngstown State, 138-92, in their first home meet of the 1999-2000 season. The Bulls captured 10 first-place finishes out of 13 events. Sophomore Dawn Hickey (Brockport, NY/Brockport) broke the school record and set a new personal-best time in the 500 freestyle (5:00.21). Hickey has broken an UB record in each of Buffalo's four meets this season.

Lisa Boettrich (Hilton, NY/Hilton) was a multiple first-place finisher for Coach Dorsi Raynold's team as she captured the 100 backstroke (1:01.65) and the 200 individual medley (2:15.15). She was also a member of the winning 200 medley-relay squad along with Kim Theetge (Elmira, NY/Elmira Free Academy), Carrie Quinlan (N. Tonawanda, NY/N. Tonawanda) and Inger Rooneem (Hinton, Alberta/New Westminster Secondary) (1:48.74).

The Bulls are now 3-2 (1-1 MAC) on the season and have a brief hiatus until they swim again on December 3-5 at the Penn State Invitational.
