Women's Swimming and Diving Earns Academic Recognition From CSCAABUFFALO, NY - The University at Buffalo women's swimming and diving team, under the direction of head coach Dorsi Raynolds, has been selected as one of 74 Division I women's programs for national recognition as an Academic All-American Team for the 2004 spring semester, according to the College Swim Coaches Association of America (CSCAA). The Bulls posted a 3.23 team grade point average during the spring semester, tying them for 39th on the list with Southern Illinois and Northwestern. Washington State posted the highest team GPA of the semester at 3.66. A record 283 teams across all divisions were recognized by the CSCAA for posting team grade point averages of 2.80 or better for the spring semester. The Bulls' 3.23 GPA was the fifth-highest semester GPA among all of Buffalo's varsity teams. The women's swimming and diving team has posted the highest team GPA at UB in eight of the last 10 semesters. UB's women's swimming program earned a pair of Academic All-Mid-American
Conference members during the 2003-04 season.
Jennefer Brankovsky (Toronto, Ontario/Don Mills)
and Jolie Pun (Fonthill, Ontario/E.L. Crossley)
were both recognized by the MAC for their outstanding
efforts academically and athletically for the second consecutive season. |
