Meili Carpenter Selected to Academic All-MAC Squad

BUFFALO, NY – University at Buffalo sophomore diver Meili Carpenter (Boulder, CO/Fairview) has been selected to the 2008 Academic All-Mid-American Conference women's swimming and diving team. The league announced its list of 21 honorees from the eight women's swim members this morning from its headquarters in Cleveland.

Carpenter, a sophomore chemistry and psychology major with a 3.83 GPA, earned second-team All-MAC honors for the second straight season as the league held its championship meet at UB's Alumni Arena Natatorium last month. She placed second on the three-meter board with a six-dive championship total of 291.80 points. Carpenter also finished fifth on the one-meter board with 266.15 points for her six-dive repertoire.

During the regular season, Carpenter broke her own UB records for the one-meter (330.75) and three-meter (336.20) events. Additionally, she will compete at the NCAA Zone Diving Championships at UB March 14-16.
