Women's Swimmers Downed at St. Bonaventure, 125-112

Koltz, Carpenter capture two events each for Bulls

ST. BONAVENTURE, NY – The University at Buffalo women’s swimming and diving team fell to regional rival St. Bonaventure, 125-112, in non-conference action on Wednesday, concluding the regular season for both teams. With the loss, the Bulls end the regular season with a 6-5 record.

The Bulls scored wins in six of the meet’s 13 events in a contest that stayed close throughout the evening.

Freshman Jesse Koltz (Chenango Bridge, NY/Chenango Valley) won the sprint freestyle events for the Bulls. Koltz won the 50-yard race in 24.61. She later completed the sweep with a win in the 100-yard freestyle in 53.53.

Sophomore Meili Carpenter (Boulder, CO/Fairview) swept the diving events for the Bulls. Carpenter won the one-meter competition with a total score of 277.80 points for six dives. She later took the three-meter event with 286.81 points.

Sophomore Jessica Ballard (Montreal, Quebec/Academic Magnet) won the 200-yard individual medley in 2:11.98. Freshman Jordan Deren (Lackawanna, NY/Nardin Academy) won the 500-yard freestyle in 5:13.09.

With the regular season complete, the Bulls will now concentrate on the postseason. The Bulls host the four-day Mid-American Conference Championships starting February 20 at Alumni Arena Natatorium for their next competition.
