UB Cruises to Fifth Straight Win

Pfeffer Scores Twice for the Bulls

BUFFALO, NY - The University at Buffalo women's soccer team improved their opening season win streak to five games, the second best start in school history, as the Bulls defeated Canisius 5-0.

Elizabeth Pfeffer (Liverpool, NY/Cicero North Syracuse) led the scoring off with a goal in the seventh minute of the game, scoring on a pass from Paula Listrani (Rochester, NY/Greece Athena). Less than two minutes later, Listrani scored a goal of her own at the 8:34 mark to give UB the early 2-0 lead. Freshman Samantha Swerdloff (Montclair, NJ/Montclair) score at the 15:13 mark, recording her fourth goal of the season. Swerdloff has scored in four of the Bulls five games.

Pfeffer stuck again with her second goal of the game, and her fifth goal in the last two games, scoring at the 32:15 mark to give UB a 4-0 lead at halftime. In the second half, senior Lauren Hartmayer (Clarence Center, NY/Clarence) scored in the 49th minute, her first goal of the season, and gave UB the final 5-0 score.

UB goalie Jaime Adams (Rochester, NY/Greece Arcadia) recorded her fourth shutout of the season and lowered her goals against average to 0.21 for the season.
