Women's Soccer Players Named to All-Regional TeamBUFFALO, NY The UB women's soccer team received some national recognition for a couple of its student-athletes as seniors Paula Listrani (Rochester, NY/Greece-Athena) and Linnaea DiNallo (Clifton Park, NY/Shenendehowa) were both named to the National Soccer Coaches Association of America All-Region second team for the Northeast Region. This season, Listrani became UB's all-time leader in career goals (46), career assists (24) and career points (116). She scored a personal-best 14 goals on the season and a school-record 11 assists on the year for 39 points, another school single-season record. Listrani was also named as a first team All-Mid-American Conference selection for the third straight season. This is her third straight season to be named to the All-Regional team, being voted a third team selection in 1998 and a first team All-Region selection in 1999. DiNallo made her mark as one of the top defenders in the Mid-American Conference, and was named to the All-MAC first team this year for the second straight season. She led the team in recording a school-record nine shutouts this season and a team goals against average of 0.92. DiNallo is also a repeat selection to the All-Region team, being named a second team selection last season as well. The Bulls finished the 2000 season with a 14-6-1 record, tieing
the school record for wins in a season. In addition, UB claimed the school's
first-ever Mid-American Conference title, winning the MAC regular season
with an 8-2-0 conference record. |
