BUFFALO, NY - Seniors Anna-Lesa Calvert (Dallas, TX/Bryan Adams) and Natalia Crofut (East Aurora, NY/Iroquois) were named to the women's soccer Academic All-Mid-American Conference team by faculty athletic representives at conference institutions, along with 26 others, the league office in Cleveland announced Thursday.

Bowling Green, which won the MAC Tournament, led the way with six All-Academic selections, while Kent State earned four selections. This is only the third time in the Bulls' eight years in the conference that they've garnered two selections, with the last time coming in 2001 when Lindsay Mislin and Devon Russell were selected.

Calvert, who also took home Academic All-MAC honors as a junior, had a milestone year, becoming the first UB goalkeeper to have back-to-back 100-save seasons and also became just the third goalkeeper in MAC history to reach 300 career saves. She led the league in saves per game average, taking in 5.67 shots per game.

A psychology and history major, Calvert has maintained a 3.71 GPA and was also involved in the Psi Chi Psychology Honor Society, the Phi Eta Sigma Freshman Honor Society, Chi Alpha Sigma Athlete Honor Society and the Golden Key International Honor Society. She also was a guiding force in UB Athletics' CareWears program, for which she received the ACT Student Initiative Award in 2002.

Crofut earned her first conference honor after leading Buffalo with three goals and eight points despite being injured for the final six games of the season. She was one of only 27 players to reach 50 career points in MAC history and one of 11 players in UB history to reach 20 career goals, reaching both before being injured this season. She finished her career ninth in goals (21) and ninth in points (53) in UB history. She led the team in goals three times and points once and was the first player since all-time leading scorer Paula Listrani (1997-1999) to have at least 10 points in her first three seasons.

An English major, Crofut maintains a 3.59 GPA and is also involved in Phi Eta Sigma and the Golden Key International Honor Societies.

Buffalo finished the season 5-11-2 overall and 3-7-1 in the Mid-American Conference under 11th-year head coach Jean-A. Tassy.
