The University at Buffalo women’s soccer team gained its second Mid-American Conference win of the season, as the Bulls defeated the Central Michigan Chippewas 1-0 on Sunday afternoon in Mount Pleasant.

UB used a second half goal from freshman Lindsey Bailey (Burlington, ON/Assumption) to charge past CMU as the Bulls concluded their weekend road trip with a split against MAC competition. Bailey’s goal came in the 64th minute off a cross from senior Ashley Turner (Olean, NY/Olean).

Coron Passes Previous Save Mark

Junior goalkeeper Amy Coron’s (Farmington, NY/Victor) 11 saves in Sunday’s win pushed her season save total to 106, which passes her total of 101 saves that she posted last season. In her career, Coron currently has 207 saves, good to place her 8th all-time in career saves and 10th all-time in single season saves.

Junior Andrea Vescio (Niagara Falls, ON/A.N. Myer) currently leads the Bulls in points with 12, including four goals and four assists through the team’s 16 games this season. Classmate Brooke McCalla (Pickering, ON/Dunbarton) is a close second, notching 11 points on four goals and three assists. Rounding out the top three, senior Heidi Griffiths (Clarence, NY/Clarence) has gathered nine points on four goals and one assist despite playing in just seven games this season.

Next up

Buffalo will complete its regular MAC season with a trio of home games, commencing with a match against Ball State on Friday, Oct. 26 at 4:00 pm. On Sunday, Oct. 28, the Bulls will recognize the efforts of the team’s 10 seniors in a senior day match against Miami, slated to begin at 1:00 pm. Finally, on Nov. 1 Buffalo will face Kent State in its final regular season home match. The contest against the Golden Flashes is scheduled to begin at 6:00 pm.
