Women's Soccer Defeated By Eastern MichiganAnn Arbor, MI - Playing in its final Mid-American Conference regular season game of the season, the University at Buffalo women's soccer was defeated by Eastern Michigan, 4-0, on Sunday afternoon. The Bulls, who entered the weekend in first place, dropped three of their final MAC matches to finish with a 7-5 MAC record (8-8 overall). Eastern Michigan improves to 7-3 (12-4 overall) with the victory. Eastern Michigan led 2-0 at the half, scoring goals at the 21:11 and 34:10 marks. The Eagles then added to their lead in the 63rd minute when Heather Pedersen scored her first goal of the season off a penalty kick. Then, in the 72 minute, Eastern Michigan tallied a fourth goal on a rebound in front of the net to close out the scoring. For Buffalo, junior Emily Cox (Fairport, NY/Fairport) took the loss in goal, making six saves in 90 minutes. Offensively, sophomore Emily Russell (Albany, NY/Academy of the Holy Names) recorded two shots to lead the Bulls. Buffalo will close out the regular season at Canisius on Wednesday, November 24 (5 p.m.),
and at home against Duquesne on Wednesday, November 31 (4 p.m.). |
