Pfeffer Gets MAC Honor

Pfeffer Third Bulls Player to be Named MAC Player of the Week

BUFFALO, NY - For the third time in the last four weeks, the Mid-American Conference has selected a member of the UB women's soccer team for conference Player of the Week honors.

Freshman Elizabeth Pfeffer (Liverpool, NY/Cicero North Syracuse) was named the MAC Player of the Week today for her performance this past weekend. Pfeffer lead the Bulls to two victories on the road over Marshall and against regular season defending champ Ohio.

At Marshall, Pfeffer scored both UB goals in a 2-1 win, including the game-winning goal in the 98th minute for the sudden death overtime victory. In the game at Ohio, Pfeffer again scored both of UB's goals in a 2-1 victory over the Bobcats. She scored shortly before halftime to tie the game and then added the game winner in the second half. Pfeffer increased her season total to 10 goals on the year, second best on the team and third best in the conference.

Pfeffer is the third Bulls player to be named MAC Player of the Week, along with Paula Listrani (Rochester, NY/Greece Athena) on Sept. 29, and Jaime Adams (Rochester, NY/Greece Arcadia) on Oct. 5. The Bulls are currently tied for first in the MAC with Central Michigan at 7-1-0 in conference and UB has the best overall record in the MAC at 13-1-1.
