UB Uses Overtime To Win AgainPfeffer Scores in OT For Bulls 12th WinHuntington, WV - The University at Buffalo women's soccer team continued their hot season, bouncing back from their first loss of the year for a 2-1 overtime win at Marshall. After a loss last weekend to Miami ended UB's string of 12-straight games without a loss, the Bulls rebounded strong, winning on the road and staying in first place in the MAC. UB got on the board first, as freshman Elizabeth Pfeffer (Liverpool, NY/Cicero North Syracuse) scored off a pass from Samantha Swerdloff (Montclair, NJ/Montclair) in the 41st minute, giving UB the 1-0 lead going into halftime. In the second half, UB's hopes of a ninth shutout this year faded when Marshall's Kelly Clark scored with two minutes left in the game, forcing the Bulls third overtime this year. Pfeffer would strike again for UB, scoring her second goal of the game and the game winner in the 98th minute, giving the Bulls their 12th victory on the season. Emily Cox (Fairport, NY/Fairport) got her second career start and recorded six saves on the night and gave up the lone Marshall goal. The win improves UB's record to 12-1-1 on the season and 6-1 in the MAC, still good for first place. The 12 wins match the second best total in school history, equaling the mark set in 1998 when UB went 12-5-1. The school record for wins is 14, set in 1986.
