Amy Coron records shutout; Andrea Vescio scores game-winner in team’s first MAC win

UB goalkeeper Amy Coron (Farmington, NY/Victor) notched her second shutout of the season while Andrea Vescio (Niagara Falls, ON/A.N. Myer) scored the eventual game-winner for Buffalo.

Vescio put UB on the board in the 33rd minute as the junior collected a great pass from senior Ashley Turner (Olean, NY/Olean) and fired a turn-around shot from inside the box that found the back of the far-post net. The goal was Vescio’s fourth of the season while the assist served as Turner’s second of the season.

Coron finished the game with 10 saves for Buffalo while the Bulls’ defense had a solid outing and efficiently prevented the Falcons from converting shots into goals as BGSU outshot the Bulls 22-13. The highly physical match was also studded with 15 total fouls and two yellow cards between the two teams.

Buffalo will return to MAC action on Friday, Oct. 19 when the Bulls travel to Eastern Michigan for a 3:00 pm game against the Eagles. UB will then continue its weekend travels with a match at Central Michigan on Sunday, Oct. 21 at 1:00 pm.
