Miami Hands UB First LossEarly Goal Not Enough For BullsBUFFALO, NY - The UB women's soccer team saw their unbeaten season come to an end Sunday, as the visiting Miami RedHawks came away with a 2-1 win. The loss breaks a 12-game unbeaten streak by UB to start the season. The Bulls got on the board quickly, scoring just two minutes into the game for an early lead. Dawn DelGiudice (Tannersville, PA/Pocono Mountain) took a pass from Cherie Rogers (Rochester, NY/Greece Athena) and knocked the ball by the Miami goalie at the 2:09 mark. UB carried that 1-0 lead into the second half before Miami fought back. The RedHawks got their first goal in the 60th minute as Tonja Weimer took a free kick from the left side and crossed it to Shaedyn Cousino who got the header to tie the score at 1-1. Less than three minutes later, Weimer again had a free kick from the left side and kicked an identical cross that was headed in by Julie Grosso at the 62:34 mark. Late Buffalo attempts came up short and Miami left with a 2-1 victory. The win improved Miami to 11-2-0 overall and 4-2-0 in the MAC. UB suffers their first loss of the year and fall to 11-1-1 overall and 5-1 in the MAC.
