ATHENS, OH - The Buffalo women's soccer team completed a successful weekend of Mid-American Conference play by beating Ohio, 1-0, in Athens, OH on Sunday afternoon. It was the second-straight win for the Bulls who also topped Marshall on Friday night.

Stellar defensive play by both teams kept the game scoreless until late in regulation. However, Emily Russell (Averill Park, NY/Academy of the Holy Names) broke free from the Ohio defense and snapped the scoreless tie with her 11th goal of the season and fourth of the weekend in the 82nd minute. Her 11 goals this season move the senior forward into a seventh place tie all-time at UB for goals in a season.

Anna-Lesa Calvert (Dallas, TX/Bryan Adams) made seven saves to earn her second shutout of the season. It marked the fourth time this year that the Bulls have shut out their opponent.

With the win, the Bulls improve to 7-5-1 overall and 3-3-1 in the MAC. Ohio drops to 4-7-1 overall and 2-3-1 in the conference. Buffalo will next face Ball State at home on Friday night at 7 pm.
