Eastern Michigan scored their first goal of the game when EMU’s Chelsea Detrick snuck a header shot past UB goalkeeper Amy Coron with just under nine minutes gone in the half. The Eagles scored an insurance goal at the 75:31 mark to seal the win.

The Bulls were not without chances with Aubrey Stahl collecting a team-high four shots, two on goal. Lindsey Bailey also had a handful of scoring chances throughout the game, notching three shots on the day.

“We came out with good energy and created a lot of good chances. I’m proud of the effort we gave today. We’re close to breaking through and we just need to turn the chances into results in order to win games,” said head coach Michael Thomas.

Coron had five saves in the game, with Eastern Michigan outshooting UB, 15-13.

The Bulls continue their Michigan road trip with a game at Central Michigan on Sunday afternoon. The match is set for 1 pm in Mt. Pleasant, Michigan at the CMU Soccer Complex.
