YPSILANTI, MI - Michelle Lawrence notched a hat trick to lift Eastern Michigan past the University at Buffalo women's soccer team, 3-0, in Mid-American Conference action Friday afternoon at Scicluna Field.

The Eagles (4-6-1 overall, 2-1 MAC) jumped out in the first half, forcing six corners as the Bulls (3-6-1 overall, 1-2 MAC) only managed two in the game along with two shots on goal. The Bulls did outshoot the Eagles, 5-4, in the second half, as they lost to the Eagles for the second year in a row.

Lawrence scored in the sixth minute and then added two goals in the second half, within five minutes of each other to seal the win.

Sophomore Kelley Vander Mallie (Penfield, NY/Penfield/Pittsburgh) took four shots to lead the Bulls offense.

Senior Anna-Lesa Calvert (Dallas, TX/Bryan Adams) made three saves in goal to leave her four shy of reaching 300 career saves and becoming just the third goaltender in MAC history to reach the milestone.
