BUFFALO, NY - The Buffalo women's soccer team dropped a heartbreaking 1-0 overtime loss to Akron on Sunday afternoon at RAC Field. Despite outshooting the Zips, 29-14, the Bulls couldn't prevent Akron's Mirka Mohs from scoring the gamewinner five minutes into overtime to help the Zips escape with the victory.

Emily Russell (Averill Park, NY/Academy of the Holy Names) led UB with 9 shots. Robin Aparo (Victor, NY/Victor Central) and Devon Russell (Averill Park, NY/Academy of the Holy Names) each notched four shots for the Bulls.

Anna-Lesa Calvert (Dallas, TX/Bryan Adams) made a season-high seven saves in the loss. Akron's goalkeeper Crystal Tabor made eight saves to earn the shutout.

The loss dropped Buffalo to 5-5-1 overall and 1-3-1 in Mid-American Conference. Akron improved to 3-6-1 overall and 2-4-0 in the conference. After starting the season 5-2, the Bulls are winless in their last four. UB will next play at Marshall on Oct. 3 at 7 pm.
