Regionally-ranked Ball State notches 2-0 conference win against Buffalo

MUNCIE, IN - Dee Nocero scored the game-winner in the 15th minute as regionally-ranked Ball State shut out the University at Buffalo women's soccer team, 2-0, in Mid-American Conference action on Friday afternoon.

Nocero was assisted on the goal by Kate Nadalin and Laura Bandy. Nadalin leads the team with two goals and three assists for seven points.

The Cardinals (5-1-3 overall, 1-1-3 MAC), ranked 11th in SoccerBuzz.com's Great Lakes Region, added another tally in the 53rd minute as Lindsay Wiltshire added her third goal of the season unassisted.

Buffalo (3-6 overall, 2-2 MAC) took just eight shots, five in the second half, to force Ball State goalkeeper Alison Becker to make three saves to earn her fourth shutout of the year.

Senior goalkeeper Anna-Lesa Calvert (Dallas, TX/Bryan Adams) stopped seven shots in the loss for the Bulls, as the Cardinals took 11 shots.

Buffalo did hold a 6-3 advantage in corner kicks but was hurt by a 14-7 lead in fouls.
