BUFFALO, NY - Sophomore Nicole Olszewski (Lancaster, NY/Lancaster) scored her sixth goal of the season 3:05 into overtime to lift the University at Buffalo women's soccer team to a 2-1 OT victory over Bowling Green on Sunday afternoon. After a scoreless first half, Bowling Green scored on a free kick in the 60th minute to take the lead. However, the Bulls responded quickly on a goal by senior Paula Sinclair (Hamilton, NY/Barton Secondary) 1:05 later to tie the game. The goal, which was set up by sophomore Lauren West (Niskayuna, NY/Niskayuna) was Sinclair's third of the season and the third of her career.

The Bulls had several solid scoring chances late in regulation, as Olszewski had a pair of shots from point-blank range stopped with just under three minutes left.

In overtime, however, sophomore Erin McGarry (Burnt Hills, NY/Burnt Hill-Ballstone Lake) and sophomore Robin Aparo (Victor, NY/Victor) set up Olszewski for the game winner.

Olszewski's goal gives her 17 points in the Bulls' first eight games, just two points shy of her 2000 output of 19 points. The Western New York native has now scored in five of Buffalo's eight games this season.

Buffalo outshot the Falcons, 21-13. Junior Emily Cox (Fairport, NY/Fairport) earned the win in goal for the Bulls, stopping five shots.

The Bulls will return home for four-straight home games. The home stand begins on Friday, September 28, when they host Miami (7 p.m.) and includes visits from Ball State (Sunday, September 30), Northern Illinois (Friday, September 5) and Western Michigan (Sunday, September 7).
