Women's soccer falls, 4-1

Cheyra Bell nets first career goal

BUFFALO, NY - The University at Buffalo women's soccer team dropped a hard-fought 4-1 contest to UC-Riverside on Friday in its first game of the Puma Classic, hosted by UC-Irvine.

The Highlanders got on the board first when Linda Allen scored on a free kick from just outside the box, about 12 minutes into the match. Jenna Leonti extended the UC-Riverside lead 2-0, scoring on a header off a corner kick at 33:25. Just over five minutes into the second-half, Tessa Lennala added a goal for the Highlanders on a rebound that she sent past UB goalkeeper Amy Coron (Farmington, NY/ Victor).
