The Bulls got off to a quick start with Nicholas sending the first Buffalo shot of the game to the back of the net. Nicholas’s first career goal and UB’s first goal of the season was assisted by freshman Taylor Thompson at the 5:37 mark to give Buffalo an early lead. The Blue Devils tied it up with just under fifteen minutes to go in the half as CCSU’s Leah Blaney crossed right and shot to the top right corner to beat Coron.

CCSU took the lead at the 61:24 mark of the game and scored an insurance goal thirteen minutes later to put the Bulls down by two. Nicholas and Thompson each had two shots in the game.

The first half was scoreless for both teams with UB outshooting the Bonnies 4-3. Velez netted Buffalo’s only goal of the game off a pass from Lindsey Bailey less than three minutes into the second half to put the Bulls up by one. Their lead didn’t last long as St. Bonaventure came back with a goal of their own less than a minute later to tie it up. The Bonnies put another one past Buffalo goalkeeper Danielle Quigley at the 57:41 mark to take the lead. The Bonnies added one more with just six minutes remaining to seal the win. Velez had a team high four shots.
