EL PASO, TX -Emily Russell's (Averill Park, NY/Academy of the Holy Names) big weekend continued on Sunday afternoon as she scored three goals to help lift the UB women's soccer team to a 4-1 win over Grambling State at the UTEP Invitational in El Paso, TX on Sunday afternoon.

Russell recorded five goals and one assist in the two games in the Lone Star State. The senior attacker netted two goals in the Bulls' 2-1 victory over host UTEP on Friday night.

In Sunday's game, Grambling State got on the board first on a Brittany Dorsey goal in the 29th minute. However, the Bulls' roared back with four unanswered goals.

Russell scored UB's first goal, unassisted, at the 29:55 mark. She scored again five minutes later off a pass from Jenny Dannecker (East Amherst, NY/Holy Angels Academy). Buffalo's third goal wasn't scored by Russell, but she did have a hand in it as she set up teammate Nicole Olszewski (Lancaster, NY/Lancaster) for her first goal of the season in the 87th minute. Russell completed the hat trick with less than a minute to play as Olszewski returned the favor and assisted Russell on her third goal of the game.

Making her first career start in net, Jennifer Thompson (Chagrin Falls, OH/Chagrin Falls) made three saves and allowed only one goal to earn the victory.

The win was the fourth straight for the Bulls who improve to 4-1-0 on the season. Grambling State falls to 0-5-0.

Russell's hat trick was the second of the week by a UB player. Natalia Crofut (East Aurora, NY/Iroquois) scored all three goals in the Bulls' 3-0 win over Niagara on Wednesday night.
