Devon Russell

CLEVELAND, OH - Devon Russell (Averill Park, NY/Academy of the Holy Names) was named the Mid-American Conference Scholar Athlete of the Week on Sept. 4. It is the second honor of the week for the senior midfielder, who was named the MAC Player of the Week on Monday. Last weekend, Russell scored a pair of goals for UB in two games at the Minnesota Invitational.

In the Bulls' 1-0 win over Creighton on Aug. 30, Russell notched the gamewinner. From 35 yards out, she fired a shot into the net during the early portion of the second half. On Aug. 29, she converted a penalty kick against Minnesota.

Russell - who is a two-time All-MAC selection - is only one goal shy of tying her career high for goals in a season.

A communications major, Russell sports a 3.68 grade point average.
