CLEVELAND, OH - On Monday, University at Buffalo senior Devon Russell (Averill Park, NY/Academy of the Holy Names) was named the Mid-American Conference's Women's Soccer Player of the Week. Last weekend, Russell scored a pair of goals for UB in two games at the Minnesota Invitational.

In the Bulls' 1-0 win over Creighton on Saturday, Russell notched the game-winner. From 35 yards out, she fired a shot into the net during the early portion of the second half. On Friday, she converted a penalty kick against Minnesota.

Russell - who is a two-time All-MAC Team selection - is only one goal shy of tying her career high for goals in a season.

UB hosts the Niagara Purple Eagles at RAC Field on Wednesday at 7 p.m. as the Bulls kick off the home portion of their 2003 schedule.
