Women's Soccer Wins OpenerBUFFALO, NY - Niagara's Rosie Luzak gave the Purple Eagles a 1-0 lead 14:48 into the game but Buffalo battled back to score four-straight goals en route to a 4-1 non-conference victory in the season opener at RAC Field.
Freshman Jessica Dunn (Webster, NY/Webster) earned the start in goal for Buffalo and made five saves while Alayna Loiselle recorded nine saves between the pipes for Niagara. The Bulls outshot Niagara 19-9 and had a 4-3 advantage in corner kicks. Buffalo (1-0) will be back in action on Monday, September 3, when they host Syracuse at 1 p.m. The 2000 Regular Season Mid-American Conference Champions will begin their conference schedule on Friday, September 14, when they host Akron (7 p.m.). The Purple Eagles (0-1) will return home next weekend for the Niagara Fall Classic where they will take on Charleston Southern on Friday, September 7, at 3:30 p.m. and Drexel on Sunday, September 9, at noon. |
