Women's Soccer Picked to Finished Fifth in MACBUFFALO, NY - The University at Buffalo women's soccer team has been picked to finish fifth in the Mid-American Conference by the league coaches in the 2002 preseason poll. Miami University is picked to win the conference title receiving 166 of 169 possible points. The Bulls return all but one player from last year's squad that finished 9-9 overall and 7-5 in the MAC. UB will be led by its three captains; senior Meaghan Maul (Dix Hills, NY/Half Hollow Hills), junior Erin McGarry (Burnt Hills, NY/Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake) and junior Devon Russell (Albany, NY/Academy of the Holy Names). The Bulls open the 2002 campaign on Aug. 30 when they face Syracuse in the opening round
of the Syracuse Orange Classic Tournament. Buffalo will begin conference play against Northern
Illinois in DeKalb, IL on Sept. 13. Buffalo's home opener will be on Sept. 20 against Central Michigan. |
