BUFFALO, NY – Head coach Jean A. Tassy announced the addition of two more players to the 2006 University at buffalo women’s soccer team, fifth-year senior Lindsay Guarino (Derby, NY/Lake Shore Central) and freshman Cheyra Bell (Warwick, Bermuda/Bermuda Institute). Guarino will enter the UB Master’s program in Education, while Bell will be majoring in biology.

Guarino, who already has three years of collegiate playing experience, joins the Bulls as a fifth-year senior.

“Lindsay’s speed, quickness, explosion with the ball, creativity and vision will help solidify our attack,” said Tassy. “She can play outside or central in the midfield. She will give us the experience, speed and leadership to a somewhat young team.”

Bell, who is a member of the Bermuda National Team, will provide an immediate spark in the Bulls’ attack.

“We are anticipating her playing on the top or in attacking midfield,” said Tassy. “What impressed me most from watching her play is her creative skills, her passion at going at defenders, her tremendous quickness and she loves to score.” Tassy adds, “her addition will definitely increase the productivity of our attack.”

Bell and Guarino join a recruiting class that already comprises of 10 newcomers. The 2006 Bulls begin their season on Friday, August 25 at Niagara.
