BUFFALO, NY - The University at Buffalo women's soccer team posted the highest team grade point average among all of UB's teams for the second straight semester with a 3.379 team GPA in the spring. Seniors Brenna McJury (Brockport, NY/Brockport) (chemistry) and Jennifer Rounds (Vestal, NY/Vestal) (psychology) and freshman Heidi Griffiths (Clarence, NY/Clarence) (Spanish) each posted perfect 4.0 grade point averages to lead a contingent of 17 UB Scholar Athletes.

Also receiving UB Scholar-Athlete recognition for having a semester GPA above a 3.0 were seniors Anna-Lesa Calvert (Dallas, TX/Bryan Adams) (psychology), Jenny Dannecker (East Amherst, NY/Holy Angels Academy) (history), Arielle Korczykowski (Derby, NY/Lake Shore) (exercise science), Julia Kowzan (Grand Island, NY/Sacred Heart Academy) (political science) and Anne Malayny (Buffalo, NY/Villa Maria Academy) (social sciences), junior Erica Mincher (Waterford, NY/Shenendehowa) (communication), sophomores Jessica Roesch (Centennial, CO/Grandview) (nursing) and Jennifer Thompson (Chagrin Falls, OH/Chagrin Falls) (management) and freshmen Patricia Allen (Scottsville, NY/Wheatland Chili) (management), Allison Bosch (Wantagh, NY/Wantagh) (undeclared), Amanda Courteau (St. Catherines, Ontario/Denis Morris) (undeclared), Kathleen Fage (Delmar, NY/Bethlehem Central) (undeclared), Samantha Roth (Rochester, NY/Arcadia) (management) and Kara Winch (Strykersville, NY/Holland Central) (undeclared).

The UB women's soccer team also had the highest team grade point average in the 2004 fall semester at 3.401.
