Women’s Soccer Releases 2006 Schedule
The Bulls open the season with an August weekend against their Big 4 rivals, as they travel to Niagara to face the Northeast's 11th-ranked team from last season for a 3:00 pm game on the 25th before St. Bonaventure comes to UB Stadium at 1:00 pm on the 27th. Buffalo then takes a weekend sojourn to New England, travelling to Vermont for a 3:00 pm game on Sept. 1 and then facing Brown on Sept. 3 at 1:00 pm. The team then turns around to head for the other coast the next weekend, as they face UC Riverside on Sept. 8 at 5:30 pm in the first game of the UC Irvine Nike Invitational. The Highlanders were ranked 12th in the West Region last season. On Sunday, UC Irvine and coach Heinrichs play host to the Bulls at 5:00 pm. On Sept. 15, the Bulls complete the Big 4 circuit as they host Canisius in a 4:00 pm game at UB Stadium, part of a doubleheader with the men's team, serving as a precursor to Mid-American Conference play which starts the next weekend. Highlighting conference play in 2006 are four home contests against Eastern Michigan (Sept. 29, 4:00 pm), Central Michigan (Oct. 1, 1:00 pm), Toledo (Oct. 13, 7:00 pm) and the Great Lakes Region's 13th-ranked Bowling Green (Oct. 15, 1:00 pm). Cornell also visits UB Stadium for a midweek contest on Oct. 18 at 3:00 pm. The Bulls play a tough conference road slate, travelling to Miami (OH), the Great Lakes Region's 11th-ranked Ball State, Western Michigan, Northern Illinois, Akron, Ohio and Kent State.
