Women's Soccer Performs Community Service
BUFFALO, NY - Athletes are given support from fans every time they step on a playing field, especially at the collegiate level. All too rarely, though, do the athletes that are given such strong support do they give back to the community. The University at Buffalo women's soccer team did a little something to change that, as it went to Oakwood Nursing Home in Williamsville on Dec. 9 to perform Holiday Carols for the home, giving a little bit back to the community. "I think it's good for athletes to go help the community and show we appreciate everything they give to us," senior goalkeeper Anna-Lesa Calvert (Dallas, TX/Bryan Adams) said. Head Coach Jean-A Tassy and Calvert helped to organize the event. Tassy has helped
organize community service events many times during his 10-year career as women's soccer coach at UB. |
