Women's Soccer Nets 22 UB Scholar Athletes
BUFFALO, NY- Seniors Anna-Lesa Calvert (Dallas, TX/Bryan Adams) (psychology), Jennifer Rounds (Vestal, NY/Vestal) (psychology) and Lindsay Szafranski (Williamsville, NY/Williamsville East) (exercise science) each posted perfect 4.0 GPAs to lead a crop of 22 University at Buffalo women's soccer players in the fall who earned UB Scholar Athlete status.
The women's soccer team had a 3.401 team GPA to lead all of Buffalo's 18 sports teams, just nudging out the women's cross country team, which came in at 3.346. The other UB Scholar Athletes on the soccer team were: freshman Amanda Courteau (St. Catherines, Ontario/Denis Morris), junior Natalia Crofut (East Aurora, NY/Iroquois), senior Jenny Dannecker (East Amherst, NY/Holy Angels Academy), freshman Kathleen Fage (Delmar, NY/Bethlehem Central), freshman Heidi Griffiths (Clarence, NY/Clarence), senior Arielle Korczykowski (Derby, NY/Lake Shore), senior
A UB athlete must have a semester grade point average of 3.0 or higher to earn Scholar
Athlete status. Buffalo finished the season 7-11-1 under 10th-year head coach Jean-A Tassy.
