Jo Anna Beardsley enters her first season as an assistant coach with the University at Buffalo.

Prior to coming on board Coach Tassy's staff, Beardsley served as the head JV boys soccer coach at Fredonia High School, in Fredonia, NY while earning her M.A. in Elementary Education from Fredonia State. Beardsley was also a Physical Education Teacher for the Dunkirk City School District while completing her M.A. in Elementary Education at Fredonia State. Additionally, Beardsley served as an assistant coach to the boys varsity soccer team at Fredonia High School and was a member of the Houghton College Soccer Camps coaching staff, the Houghton College Soccer Camps at Scio Central School, Pavillion Schools and Westfield Soccer Club. Beardsley also served as the NCSA U12 Girls Travel coach, NCSA U10 Boys Co-Coach and NCSA U5 Co-Coach.

Before beginning her coaching career, Beardsley completed a stellar career as a player at Houghton College. While earning her B.S. in Physical Education, Beardsley helped lead the Houghton College women's soccer team to a final National Ranking of No. 11 in 2000, No. 15 in 2002 and No. 8 in 2003. During her tenure at Houghton, the team won three Conference Championships and made three National Tournament appearances while ranking first nationally in team defense in 2000 (0.29 gpg ave.) and second nationally in both team defense (0.35) and team offense (5.40) in 2003.

Beardsley also earned a great number of individual awards while at Houghton, as she was a three-time All-Conference selection, three-time All-Region selection, two-time Conference Player of the Year (2002 and 2003), 2003 Region Player of the Year, three-time NAIA All-American (2000, 2002, 2003) and 2003 NSCAA Adidas NAIA First Team All-American.

Beardsley is a graduate of Fillmore Central School in Fillmore, NY.
