Bulls Fall to Cleveland State, 75-48 Jamie Schiebner leads the way with 10 points CLEVELAND, OH- The University at Buffalo women's basketball team ran into a hot -shooting Cleveland State squad on Monday night, falling to the Vikings 75-48, at the Wolstein Center. The loss brings UB's record to 4-8 on the season.
The score went back and forth in the first minutes of the game, but the Vikings used a 16-0 run midway through the opening half to pull away from the Bulls. Freshman Ephesia Holmes led the Bulls with 5 of the 17 first half points, sending the Bulls into the locker room at halftime down 36-17. The 19 point half time deficit was as close as the Bulls would get, as the Vikings continued their steady scoring throughout the second half . UB was lead by senior Jamie Schiebner, who totaled 10 points on the night, seven of which came in the second half. Holmes had seven points and a team high seven rebounds. Freshman Teresa Semalulu hit a pair of second half free throws and two baskets to help give the Bulls 31 points in the second half.
The Vikings were lead by 22 points from Kailey Klein and 18 points by Shawnita Garland. Stephanie Crosley added a game high 10 rebounds. The Bulls wrap up non-conference play on the road this Friday when they take on Bucknell. Tip off is set for 7:00 pm.
