UB Women Look To Get Back On Winning TrackBUFFALO, NY The UB women's basketball team will be looking to snap its three-game losing streak at 1 pm this Sunday when the Oakland (MI) Grizzlies visit Alumni Arena. The Bulls, 1-5, will be looking to carry over the offensive momentum generated in their most recent loss - an 87-75 defeat at Niagara one week ago. In that contest, UB scored a season-high point total largely due to a 52-point second half in which it shot 64.7 percent from the floor. Oakland, 5-4, is also coming off a loss to Niagara, having lost by a 75-64 score on Friday night. Three Grizzlies are averaging in double figures, including center Petra Manakova - who scored a career-high 20 points against Niagara. Along with her 10.7 points per game, she also records an average of 6.3 rebounds per game.
There will be one new player on the Bulls' roster this Sunday. Freshman point guard
Dina Atanas (Brantford, Ontario/St. John's
College) is a welcome addition to a depleted UB roster
that previously had just eight healthy bodies. Atanas originally signed with the Bulls back in November
of 2002 before returning home prior to the start of the fall semester. |
